Uterine Cancer (Endometrial Cancer)

What is Uterine Cancer (Endometrial Cancer)

Uterine cancer is a type of cancer that starts in the uterus (womb) – the hollow, pear-shaped organ in a woman’s pelvis where a baby grows during pregnancy.
The most common type is endometrial cancer, which begins in the lining of the uterus (endometrium).
It mostly affects women after menopause, but it can also occur earlier.

Causes / Risk Factors

Hormonal imbalance – too much estrogen without enough progesterone.

  • Obesity – extra body fat increases estrogen levels.
  • Diabetes & high blood pressure.
  • Family history of uterine, ovarian, or colon cancer.
  • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) – irregular ovulation and hormonal imbalance.
  • Infertility or never having been pregnant.
  • Late menopause / early menstruation – longer estrogen exposure.
  • Radiation to the pelvis in the past.

Symptoms

Many women ignore early warning signs. Please note these carefully:

  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding – especially after menopause.
  • Bleeding between periods or very heavy, prolonged periods.
  • Watery or blood-stained vaginal discharge.
  • Pelvic pain or pressure.
  • Pain during intercourse.
  • Unexplained weight loss or fatigue (in advanced stages).

Complications

  • Can spread to ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder, rectum, or distant organs if untreated.
  • May cause infertility in younger women.
  • Emotional distress due to chronic symptoms and cancer diagnosis.

Homeopathic Perspective

Homeopathy looks at uterine cancer from a constitutional and holistic approach:

  • Balances the hormonal system naturally.
  • Helps with abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, and general weakness.
  • Works on the emotional trauma, anxiety, and fear associated with cancer.
  • Supports immunity and the body’s natural defense against abnormal growths.

Commonly considered remedies (individualized after case-taking):

  • Sepia – irregular menses, pelvic heaviness, uterine prolapse, emotional indifference.
  • Sabina – profuse, bright red bleeding with clots, worse from slightest movement.
  • Thlaspi bursa pastoris – frequent, excessive uterine bleeding with cramps.
  • Carcinosin – strong family history of cancer, anxious, sensitive patients.
  • Phosphorus – weakness, easy bleeding, emotional fears.
  • Conium maculatum – hard tumors in glands/organs, painful pressure.

(These are supportive remedies. Exact choice depends on the total patient picture.)

Precautions & Lifestyle

  • Report any unusual bleeding immediately, especially after menopause.
  • Maintain healthy body weight – obesity is a major risk factor.
  • Eat a balanced diet rich in vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.
  • Exercise regularly to balance hormones and improve circulation.
  • Avoid unnecessary hormone replacement therapy (HRT) unless prescribed carefully.
  • Practice stress management (yoga, meditation, prayer).
  • Go for regular gynecological check-ups after age 40 or earlier if risk factors exist.

Good News: If detected early, uterine cancer is highly treatable. With timely diagnosis, proper care, and a homeopathic approach for overall health, women can live a healthy and confident life.
